Story :
The man described in this large tsuba is Tadamori Taira, a father of Kiyomori Taira or one of the most famous samurais and statesmen in Heian period (1118-1181).
The design of this tsuba originated from a story of The tale of Heike.
The story tells his charm and personality of cool judgement.
The small size of tsuba describes the famous scene of Taiheiki, Japanese historical epic said to have been written by Kojima Houshi in the 1370s.
